America's only National Park
for the performing arts
Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts sits on 117 acres of protected parkland in Vienna, Virginia — just 15 miles from Washington DC and minutes from McLean and Tysons. The 7,028-seat Filene Center amphitheater hosts 70+ performances each summer from late May through September, drawing the biggest names in music, theatre, opera, and dance. The adjacent Barns at Wolf Trap operates year-round as an intimate indoor venue. Wolf Trap is the only national park in America dedicated solely to the performing arts.
The 2026 summer season celebrates America's 250th anniversary with a lineup that includes Sting, Harry Connick Jr., The Beach Boys, Chance the Rapper, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Sarah McLachlan, Gary Clark Jr., Josh Groban, John Fogerty, the National Symphony Orchestra, and dozens more. The transportation challenge at Wolf Trap is straightforward but real. Parking is free but limited — Exit 15 on Route 267 (Dulles Toll Road) backs up significantly on sold-out nights, and lots fill early for major performances. The Wolf Trap Shuttle from McLean Metro costs $5 roundtrip but requires Metro access from your starting point. For guests arriving from DC hotels, Northern Virginia residences, or airport arrivals, a private point-to-point transfer is the cleanest solution — drop-off at the entrance, pickup after the show ends, fixed rate confirmed at booking. DC ExecuCar also provides general black car service throughout the Wolf Trap area of Vienna, VA.
The inbound journey to Wolf Trap is straightforward. The return journey after a sold-out Filene Center show is where most guests encounter friction. When 7,000 concertgoers leave simultaneously, the parking lot exit queues are long, rideshare surge pricing is significant, and driver availability drops in a suburban Virginia location at 11pm. Pre-booking your return with DC ExecuCar eliminates all of it — your driver is staged nearby and waiting at your agreed pickup time, rate locked at booking regardless of what Uber charges after the show.
DC ExecuCar provides post-show pickups for all Wolf Trap performances — from Filene Center outdoor shows to intimate Barns at Wolf Trap evening performances. Hourly as-directed service is also available for guests who want their driver to wait through the performance and depart on their own schedule.
For group evenings — corporate outings, dinner parties continuing to Wolf Trap, or a group arriving from a DC hotel — the Mercedes Sprinter van handles up to 14 passengers. One vehicle, one rate, zero coordination overhead. See why black car beats rideshare for exactly this kind of evening.
Two venues, one standard
DC ExecuCar serves both Wolf Trap venues. Both are located within a quarter mile of each other at Wolf Trap National Park.
The crown jewel of Wolf Trap — a 7,028-seat outdoor amphitheater set on 117 acres of protected parkland. The Filene Center offers a combination of covered indoor seating and open lawn, with world-class acoustics and one of the most distinctive concert settings in the country. Hosts 70+ performances each summer season from late May through September — pop, rock, country, classical, jazz, opera, dance, and film-in-concert.
The 2026 season features Sting, Harry Connick Jr., The Beach Boys, Chance the Rapper, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Sarah McLachlan, Gary Clark Jr., Josh Groban, John Fogerty with Steve Winwood, and the National Symphony Orchestra in residence. Full Filene Center details →
Two adjacent 18th-century barns converted into an intimate indoor performance venue — a gift from Wolf Trap's founder Catherine Filene Shouse. The Barns hosts year-round programming including Wolf Trap Opera in the summer, folk, jazz, blues, comedy, and chamber music. A completely different atmosphere from the Filene Center — small, acoustic, and intimate, with the lobby bar serving artisanal food and drinks 90 minutes before showtime.
The Barns is the home of Wolf Trap Opera — one of America's premier training programs for early-career singers. 2026 productions include Rossini's La Cenerentola and Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin.
